Chris Benz is one of the co-founders of Napa Climate NOW!, a local climate action non-profit advocating for smart, science-based climate actions and the Napa chapter of 350 Bay Area. She has lived in Napa for over 30 years.
In 2015 she retired from her position as the Production Manager at Laird Family Estate, capping a 34-year career in the wine industry. Since then, Chris has been active as a volunteer with local organizations concerned with environmental and climate issues. She serves as the Secretary for the Napa Group of the Sierra Club and as a member of the Steering Committee of Napa Climate NOW! She also serves on the Board of Napa Green, the sustainability certification nonprofit for the wine industry, and the Executive Committees of the Democrats of Napa Valley Club and the Napa Working Families Coalition (a group of labor, housing, and environmental organizations). And when she wants to get outside, she leads hikes for the Land Trust of Napa County.
