LNV ALUMNI ONLY!
The Meet the Leader series continues with an invitation LNV alumni only to join us for coffee and a visit to Napa City Hall to meet with Councilmember Liz Alessio and Councilmember Mary Luros.
Liz Alessio's family has lived in Napa Valley for over 140 years. Her great-great grandfather was County Supervisor from 1901-1904 and as a master stone mason built several of Napa’s most famous landmarks, while her father was a Napa Police Officer and mother a local banker, both involved on local boards. Alessio is a fourth-generation Napa resident and former Parks and Recreation Commissioner.
Mary Luros was born in Rio Oso, California, where her family has been farming for six generations. She attended Saint Mary’s College of California, where she majored in politics and minored in religious studies. After college, Mary earned her juris doctorate at Golden Gate University School of Law. She moved to Napa in 2008 and started a law firm with her husband Jason, specializing in business, property, and estate planning and administration. Mary was appointed to the City Council in January 2015 and served until December 2016. She was elected to the Council in 2018. Mary and her husband have two young children, a daughter and son. Board PICK offers a unique opportunity for Napa Valley community members to demonstrate their Passion, Interest, Commitment, and Knowledge (their PICK) by meeting directly with the leadership of more than 20 different Napa based 501c non-profit organizations and local civic boards and commissions all in one place and learning how to get involved as community members serving on the boards of directors for these organizations.
Board PICK is a great way to connect with the community you love on a whole new level.
Non-profit organizations interested in participating must complete an application for participation by September 11 via Leadership Napa Valley (www.leadershipnapavalley.org), including confirmation of their current 501c3 non-profit status.
Individuals interested in attending are encouraged (but not required) to RSVP by October 18 via EventBrite. We encourage individuals interested in serving on a non-profit board to bring a basic resume to the event.
